Whale Research Adventure

Whale Research Adventure

When it comes to whale watching in Puerto Vallarta, you will find many options with different boats and crews and whale watching programs. With the Whale Research Adventure, we offer guests a scientific-based program that incorporates whale research and a professional team of scientific researchers that serve as your tour guide. This is one Vallarta whale watching experience that focuses on education, science, and research, giving guests a first-hand view into the world of the migratory humpback whales that make their home in the waters off the coast of Puerto Vallarta every winter.

Whale watching in Puerto Vallarta allows guests to see the planet's most majestic and gentle creatures, the humpback whale. Hundreds, even thousands, of these whales make the long journey from the cold northern waters of the Pacific to the warmer waters off the coast of Puerto Vallarta every winter. They typically arrive some time in December and stay through the end of March and sometimes even into April. Our Whale Research Adventure gives an eco-tour twist to the typical whale watching excursion. On this tour, guests will learn all about these fascinating marine mammals, including their behavior, habits, and biology. The best part is that you get to learn about the whales while witnessing them right before your eyes!

The Whale Research Adventure departs twice daily during whale watching season. After the tour, we take guests to the Vallarta eco-store, where you will get a chance to learn more about the whales and the other creatures that make their home in the waters and on the lands surrounding Puerto Vallarta. Proceeds of sales at the eco-store benefit the Humpback Whale Research and Conservation program.

How many passengers are on the boat?
